BANSHEE

There are two different types of Banshees: the Bean Sidhe which are considered the good Banshee, and the Lianhan Sidhe who are considered the evil Banshee. 

Bean Sidhe
Generally considered the “good” of the Banshee race. These are the female spirits that wander around their home land to help families and warn them of inevitable death. Generally one does not see a Bean Sidhe, but hear the blood-chilling scream. While the Banshee race is considered to be the omens of death, the Bean Sidhe just want to help. They live in mountains and woods, but near civilization to give their warning. While most people fear these omen’s of death, there are always some of the psychotic people who believe that if they capture a Banshee that they can harness the power of death, which is not true. Banshees are the messengers for death, they can carry the souls across to the Other world, but they do not control death itself. One can befriend a Bean Sidhe, however, it takes much to be able to even be near one. The Banshee are women who died; the Bean Sidhe are the women who died from childbirth or accidents, and that they wish to stay on the world longer to be able to warn others of death. While they are helpful, their voices carry the sorrow of their death with them, making it hard to hear them talk.


Lianhan Sidhe
These are the sisters of the Bean Sidhe, another type in the Banshee race. However, the Lianhan Sidhe are generally considered evil. Generally those who become the Lianhan Sidhe are women who were brutally murdered and have taken the form to come back and haunt those who murdered them. The Lianhan Sidhe use their hatred and grief to torture men, using their bodies as seductresses and their blood-chilling scream to drive men insane for hearing it too long. The Lianhan Sidhe use their beautiful bodies and their combs to lure men, either from seduction or from leaving the comb on the ground or someplace where someone will pick it up, unknowingly trapped in the Banshee’s spell. The Banshee can be strong, the Lianhan Sidhe use their strength to rip the hearts out of men in whom they lure to kill. The Lianhan Sidhe try to avoid body contact until they have the mortal men trapped in their spell so the men won’t be caught aware of their corpse like bodies without any warmth. They avoid talking first, too, due to their voice that is eerie, unlike any human voice, in which the sorrow can make any weak person break down and cry after listening to a Banshee talk.


Appearances
The Banshee are female spirits, their skin is not the same flesh they had when they were alive, it has the undertone of silver from their dead bodies, but they do have flesh. Their bodies are outlined with a dull, silver luminous glow, however it is usually hidden under their soiled, cotton dresses that they were last seen in before they died. They also wear grey robes to hide themselves from light and other people. While the layers help, they also have the mist of death as some would call it which are clouds of mist that surround the Banshees no matter where they walk and slick, black crows that accompany them for the rest of their existence. A Banshee’s eyes are bright, glowing crimson red. It is said that to look into a Banshee’s eyes will cause one to go insane with fear of death, the fear that can paralyze one’s body until they can come around, however it is dangerous to look at a Banshee for a long time. A Banshee’s hair is long and wispy, either a dull silver or a rusted red. In their hair, they always will have a comb. A Banshee’s appearance will either be a young, beautiful woman, a woman in her prime motherhood years, or an old hag.


Abilities

Wailing Whether it is a curse or a blessing, the Banshee can predict the death of a mortal being and wail for the one whose death is coming.

Immortal Banshee do not age from their corpse like body, since they are spirits. They do not bleed, nor do they feel cold or warmth.

Telepathy Banshees can only speak to their crows, the companions that follow them for the entire time they walk on the earth in their corpse bodies. 

Strength Banshee’s have an unnatural amount of strength, able to break through flesh and bone.



Disadvantages

While the Banshee are considered immortal, being spirits and the omens of death, they are able to be killed due to their flesh bodies. There are two main things that can kill a Banshee:

Iron Iron stabbed through the heart of a Banshee, or to cut off the dead of a Banshee with an iron sword can kill a Banshee. However, by kill it means that they do not exist anymore. Being spirits, the messengers of death, they simply will not exist anymore. They do not go to the other, for they were given that chance as they died the first time.
They can be captured with iron handcuffs, however it is hard to capture them and they do not take to being caged or captured well. The one thing one must worry about is how to silence a Banshee because their shrill screams can cause one to go insane after hearing it for a long period of time. 

Alcohol While alcohol will not kill a Banshee, it is their weakness. Banshees love alcohol and will accept it any time given, however it will leave them vulnerable for a period of time, just like a person getting drunk from alcohol. If one wishes to capture a Banshee, giving them alcohol will help with the capture but it will not sedate the Banshee forever. 

Fire Banshee are naturally cold, due to their corpse like body, the fire will burn their flesh and completely destroy them, however it is hard to set them on fire due to the windy, chilly temperature and mist that surrounds a Banshee.
